The Total Solution
Environmental Credentials
Boise® sources timber only from well managed forests. All BCI® joists available in the UK are manufactured from wood fibre sourced from forests certified by the SFI (Sustainable Forestry Initiative).
It is also fully recognised in the BRE’s EcoHomes process, with equivalent rating to other certification schemes. The SFI Certification scheme has been fully recognised by PEFC, the programme for the endorsement of forest certification schemes, which means that BCI® joists can be used where PEFC material is specified.
Just look at the difference between a solid timber joist floor and a floor built using BCI® joists.
- Number of joists to install cut by half
- No bolts and washer fixings
- No mid span blocking
- BCI® joists are available in lengths up to 12 metres
- No extra insulation between joists
- Longer spans for more design flexibility
- Approximately half the weight of sawn timber joists and installed in a fraction of the time
Further Benefits
- Pre-formed knock outs in the joist web for neat and fast installation of wiring, pipework and ducting, with no loss of structural integrity.
- Cost effective solution
- No call backs for squeaky floors due to joist movement
